If you want to start in the vending business on the proper foot then it generally comes down to having some simple knowledge and doing some homework and research well before you even buy your first snack machine.

Even if you are beginning and you don’t have a lot of money you can still purchase great equipment for a superior value. What you will want to do is find out where to look to find the great machines that you desire.

You can find great equipment in many places here are a couple worth talking about.

You can search the online by going to a number of various websites. Some of the current Buy & Sell websites always have people selling soda machines all the time.

If you enter into your search engine “used soda machines” or used pop machines you will find a number of numerous websites where people are selling their machines.

Check out places like e bay or craig’s list, these will be excellent resources to get your machines and do your homework.

How about calling up a local service operator in your community?

Think about it. There are several operators that most likely have a couple pieces of equipment in storage that they would be eager to sell.

When getting started you will want to have a little cash to get your business up and running. You need to buy products for your vending machines, things like pop, chips, chocolate bars and gum and you must be able to pay a vending mover to transport your machines, or if you want to transport them by yourself, you can if you have a van to do that.

You do not need thousands of dollars to begin this business.

Another alternative when beginning is that you can lease a vending machine. A second hand pop machine should cost you anywhere from $50 – $75 every 30 days.

If you decide to purchase a used pop machine, they can range anywhere from $500 to $1,000. Once you get into the used vending machines that are only a few years old,you will have to spend in most cases a little more.

To add to this you could start with using your car when starting. That’s what I did. I put cases of soda in the back seat and the chips back there too. I even threw a small moving cart back there. I drove around restocking my own vending machines like that.

You do not need a lot of cash to begin, but you will be smart to have a plan when getting started, like I said, implementing ideas that I discussed can help you along the way.

Anyone can do this business and if your goal is to make an extra $500 or even $1000 per week it is completely possible in a very short time period if you set up your business properly.

So you choose to get into the vending machine business! You will want to understand the basics if you want to produce any cash in this business without losing your shirt. You see the vending business can be great as there is a batch of cash to be made by anyone who really puts in the effort and wants to make it happen.

The vending machine business can be very lucrative but you have to do some homework and research before diving in. This way you ensure the best chance for making smart business decisions that will see you keep more cash in your pocket.

What I mean by this is that soda machines or snack machines are not cheap to buy. Yes if you can find a excellent deal on a used pop machine that is in good condition and get away with spending only $500 – $1000 then that’s terrific!

Some vending machines can cost you anywhere from $1000.00 all the way up to $8000.00 depending on the type of vending machine, make and model. So doing some homework before hand is essential as many people have been sucked into the vending opportunity seminars and end up dropping tens of thousands of dollars on soda machines or snack machines that just end up sitting in their garage.

Don’t let this happen to you! You can find a local vending distributor in your community by opening up your telephone book or using the internet search engine to find a business in your community. When there ask questions and get pricing.

If you are just beginning in the vending machine business it may not make sense for you to spend several thousand dollars on a new piece of equipment. It may be wise to find a local vending company who is already operating their business in your are and ask if they have any good condition used soda machines or snack machines that they can put up for sale you. You should also be able to find a company that sells used machines.

The trick to making real cash in vending is to find a great vending location where you can set up your vending equipment and pay off your machines within the first 12 to 18 months. This will enable you to build your business fast and increase as needed.

Buying soda and snack machines to begin with will benefit you greatly as the products that vend through these machines offer high-level profit margins. A can of soda and a bag of chips are relatively not expensive and can be sold for double your cost price.

Coffee and food machines are priced higher and require a bit more maintenance. Use these types of vending machines for locations that employ large numbers of employees 150 -250. If you get requests for these types of machines make sure that your location is a viable one and that they have the staffing requirements to make it worth your while to place the vending machines.

Remember some machines can be priced high and if you have to drop $10,000 dollars for one single location and you end up pulling out only $100 per week in sales, it will take you years to pay off your equipment and will leave a sour taste in your mouth.

When starting out in the vending machine business look at setting up a few soda vending machines to begin with to get a feel of how this business works and the buying trends of your customers. You can find used soda machine for as low as $300 – $500 and all they need is a quick clean up and then they are ready to go for your next location.

After you get a few of these set up then look to continue building your business with some snack vending machines. This in my opinion is the smart way to begin and will enable you to get a feel of the business and what it is all about.
