Direct Marketing Online

September 29th, 2009 by Bruce

Direct marketing is something that is hardly new to us. Salesman distributing booklets, advertisements on tv and getting various letters involving promotions are something everyone is familiarly sick of. Although the concept of direct marketing online is new, we have already seen the use of it in the recent past. This has made direct marketing online the ultimate marketing tool and now in the process of replacing the conventional marketing techniques.

A majority of marketers appear to favour direct marketing online as against orthodox methods of marketing. One very obvious reason would be the fact that direct marketing online is relatively cheaper. Marketers also appear to be of the impression that online direct marketing is easier to be cautiously pointed to the niche market making it a more competent and refined tool. There is a greater return for the marketers who use social networking for direct marketing as there is a growing trend towards everyone taking part of a social network.

However, not everyone seems to be of the same opinion regarding the effectiveness of direct marketing online. Reviews of the concept state that it is not prudent to directly use the cyberspace for marketing but on contrary they are of the view that, it should be applied only in order to paint a stronger image of the product and of the company. They especially frown on the use of social networks for marketing purposes.

Well like it or not direct marketing online seems to be here to stay. You can well realize the truth of that statement when you go and open your email inbox everyday. Marketing methods like spam has become a regular nuisance. It is unsure whether this type of carpet bombing fashion direct marketing online movements are good but unfortunately companies appear to be hell bent on following it.

The very concept of direct marketing online since recently seems to be entwined with words such as permission based. One does not need the IQ of Einstein to grasp the meaning of the word and it should be noted by marketers that permission based direct marketing online movements are likely to be more effective.

It could be most effective if direct and online marketing is used as a part of an integrated marketing campaign used with different other direct marketing tools that would help reap the full gains of this complicated marketing concept.

7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing – The Truth About Network Marketing’s Lies

September 29th, 2009 by Bruce

When the 7 Great Lies Of Network Marketing was released it really got tongues wagging within the network marketing industry. Ann Sieg received a lot of criticism for identifying issues most MLMers were having but were too frightened to admit.

Sieg really touched on some problems particularly in the area of prospecting and she was right on most counts. However, I think some of the issues lay with network marketers themselves and then inability to grasp the concept of duplication and leverage.

Basically that’s what this business is about. It’s relationship marketing in it’s purest form. The misconception that one had to sponsor hundreds of people personally is rife and until you can grasp the concept that you don’t need to do this you will continually struggle to build a business.

Power Of Leverage And Duplication

The truth is, you don’t need to sponsor hundreds of people into your business. This is where the power of leverage comes in and recently, I have had the pleasure of seeing it in action with a couple of my upline members in my Fortune Hi Tech Marketing business.

One guy has more than two thousand people in his business achieved in a little over a year. How many did he sponsor personally? 7! Yes, just seven people. This guy understands leverage.

Out of those seven he identified three people who had leadership potential. So he worked with them. His philosophy is “if they haven’t got the time I have” and he doesn’t need their time just their contacts. This set the ball rolling. Instead of pursuing his own sign ups relentlessly like many network marketers do he worked with his people and their lists.

So when someone came on board in his downline they were taught to quickly identify three people who they could call in the middle of the night for help if they had a car breakdown. This proved very effective and set the wheels in motion for his business to grow quickly. Of course other factors came into play but you can get the idea here of the power of duplication and leverage.

His team did the same thing and soon his downline started to disappear from his control. Yes he worked hard for the first year but he combined keeping his eye on his goals with action and the result? MAGIC.

The other big point here and it’s also made in Sieg’s the Renegade Network Marketer is that this business is about relationship marketing so don’t be fooled into thinking you can completely dispense with having to talk to anyone. Find a few and teach them to do the same and it’s amazing how quickly the power of leverage comes into play.

Build Your Businesses With Advertising Marketing Public Relations

September 29th, 2009 by Bruce

The success of a business is dependent on several factors. Businesses should offer the best products to be successful. They should effectively manage their costs of production to offer their product at a reasonable price and they must have the best in marketing public relations.

Even businesses with the first two of these principles covered fail miserably without great marketing public relations. History is filled with businesses that have failed, not because they offered a poor product or could not manage costs, but because of management public relations.

Marketing public relations goes hand in hand with a companies reputation. If a company has a bad reputation it will not likely succeed. Even companies that improve their product after an initially bad product may have already done the damage. The business may have already sealed it own fate. The bad product will always be associated with the business unless something is done.

Businesses that begin with a well designed product build a good reputation. Even if they have a product that is a dud, the public is willing to forgive, because of the earlier reputation.

If your company had a bad start is there no hope? Of course there is hope, however you will need to work with extra diligence in the area of marketing public relations.

Here are some ways that a business can overcome the marketing public relations area.

One such way is by offering free samples. Prior to the 1980s, diet sweeteners were disgusting. Little white pills or liquid drops that were supposed to add a sweet taste made everything taste like earwax. The image of diet sweeteners changed forever in 1983 when a gumball came in the mail. This artificially sweetened gum did not have the bitter flavor of saccharine. The add campaigns showed fresh strawberries dipped in the sweetener and consumed without the terrible taste of other artificial sweeteners. The image of an artificial sweetener changed forever because of a free sample.

Offer a better warranty. Kia motors is a great example of this strategy. The first of these Korean vehicles sold in the United States were inexpensive little cars that did not last. Kia began improving their vehicles, but they had a reputation to overcome. In the mid-1990s they began a ten year 100, 000 mile warranty campaign. At the time this type warranty was not offered by any other vehicle manufacturer. The advertising campaign slogan was “Our wills are strong, our butts are too.” Today Kia has gained a respectable part of the market.

Offer a better price. For many people, the ultimate determination of what product is bought it the price. Even if a company has had a bad reputation in the past some people will try the less expensive product. If your product has improved, then you will begin to get a following. Kia motors also used this campaign along with easy financing to win back their share of the market.

If you want to overcome problems with your public relations and marketing communications and businesses past and become a great company today, you must have good public relations and marketing services.

How to Master Negotiation Strategies

September 29th, 2009 by Bruce

Are negotiations difficult for you? Do you often lay awake during nights where you need to climb out of bed around sunrise to negotiate with clients, dealers or potential leads? Do the majority of your negotiations result in misunderstandings instead of improving your overall business relationships? Have you ever wished that you could just sail through deals without being thought of as unfriendly or controlling? If your reply to the majority of these questions is a resounding YES, then you could really use some assistance, and if you make an effort to keep in mind the following helpful tips, you’ll soon realise that negotiating isn’t tough after all.

In many cases, it’s the variety of expectations, emotions and strategies involved which applies the psychological pressure to the negotiator, which easily can – and often does, drive the endeavour in the wrong direction. Here are some do’s and don’ts from management training for successful friendly negotiations.

Do’s:

a.) Always enter the negotiation room with a mature mindset. Never approach negotiations with an air of overconfidence or seem desperate to close a deal.

b.) Implement a relaxed, confident and honest approach. Always approach the other party with a friendly manner and begin the process by exchanging pleasantries and casual conversation. This will provide both of you with ample time to relax into your groove.

c.) Take care that the negotiation remains a reasonable process. You have the right to put across your point of view, and so does the other person, so don’t try to push him into a corner.

d.) Always give ample time to the other person so he can finish what he has to say, and avoid interrupting or trying to take over the conversation.

e.) Try to follow and understand the negotiating style of the person across the table. If he is polite, be polite. If he is tough, be polite again. The idea is not to have heated debates, but to come to a mutually amicable solution.

f.) Ask questions, but at the same time don’t deny the other person the same liberty. Remember to listen carefully; as this will give you time to think so you can make a productive counter move.

Don’ts:

1.) Do not be bogged down by the image or market standing of the other party. Trust your abilities, and remember that the reputation of an individual is rarely accurate.

2.) Do not let emotions rule the scene – keep them under control. An overplay or underplay of emotions can cause irrational behavior, frustrations and conflict.

3.) Do not forget that you are at the negotiating table to reach the best deal possible for you and your company. Be straight forward, well researched, set goals and have a clear vision in sight.

4.) Do not approach negotiations unprepared. Always prepare a strategy well in advance – but don’t cling to it, just remember to follow the general theme. Circumstances may be different in each instance, and you may need to adopt a flexible plan based on the flow of your current negotiations.

Most business coaching experts agree that the above tips can come in handy when negotiating just about any deal. Negotiations should be thought of as healthy discussions and not as argumentative conversations. Business works on the basis of relationship. In other words, negotiations should help a business earn friends – not enemies. The idea is to not only win the negotiation, but to win the person sitting across the table as well.
